The Multidisciplinary Melanoma Treatment Program of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital offers comprehensive treatment services for cutaneous, ocular, and mucosal melanoma. Center co-directors Howard L. Kaufman, MD (surgical oncology) and Desiree Ratner, MD (dermatological surgery) lead a multidisciplinary team with expertise in:

  • surgical oncology
  • dermatology and dermatologic surgery
  • medical oncology
  • radiation oncology
  • dermatopathology
  • oculoplastic surgery
  • head and neck surgery
  • plastic and reconstructive surgery
  • nurses dedicated to the treatment of melanoma

The Center's comprehensive, coordinated patient services include:

  • screening
  • MoleMap (full body scan) technology for high risk patients
  • radiation treatment, gamma knife surgery
  • excisional surgery, sentinel node biopsy, and other appropriate surgical procedures
  • Interleukin-2 (IL-2) treatment
  • clinical trials of promising new tumor vaccines in the treatment of melanoma
