
Melanoma Center
The Multidisciplinary Melanoma Treatment Program of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital offers comprehensive treatment services for cutaneous, ocular, and mucosal melanoma.
Center co-directors Bret Taback, MD (surgical oncology) and Desiree Ratner, MD (dermatological surgery) lead a multidisciplinary team with expertise in:
- surgical oncology
- dermatology and dermatologic surgery
- medical oncology
- radiation oncology
- dermatopathology
- oculoplastic surgery
- head and neck surgery
- plastic and reconstructive surgery
- nurses dedicated to the treatment of melanoma
The Center's comprehensive, coordinated patient services include:
- screening
- MoleMap (full body scan) technology for high risk patients
- radiation treatment, gamma knife surgery
- excisional surgery, sentinel node biopsy, and other appropriate surgical procedures
- Interleukin-2 (IL-2) treatment
- clinical trials of promising new tumor vaccines in the treatment of melanoma
